Shri Morarji Ranchhodji Desai Arts & Commerce College was established in 1993 with a view to furnish the needs of higher education of the local & tribal community. The mission of spreading new knowledge with an equal amalgamation and understanding of tribal culture began with the strength of only 485 students in July 1993.

With the passage of time the institution developed into one of the most outstanding academic centre in the newly formed Tapi district with more than 800 students out of which about 98% belong to tribal community as enrolled during the year 2007-2008 and 2008-2009..

Spread on the areas of 5 acres of land amidst natural surroundings the campus of the college would remind anyone of Tagore’s Shanti Niketan.

The college is situated in peaceful and serene area and offers ample opportunities to the students who aspire to study a variety of subjects in the Arts stream with Gujarati as the medium of instruction.
